CEX perp dominance fell from 96% to under 87% in 18 months

CEX perp dominance fell from 96% to under 87% in 18 months.
That's not a blip. That's a structural migration.
On-chain perps now clear $27B/day. Smart contracts that never close, never halt, never ask for ID.
The old playbook (sign up, verify, wait) is getting slower every quarter. The new one executes in seconds, on-chain, with your own keys.
The question isn't whether this shift continues. It's how fast.

AI dev tools reshaping how builders ship — OpenCode enters at #1
10:00 UTC
Something shifted in AI coding tools this month.
OpenCode just entered the rankings at #1. Cursor 3.9 dropped with cloud agents that spin up dev environments in under 10 minutes. GitHub Copilot moved to per-credit billing.
The tools getting better faster than anyone expected.
For crypto builders: the gap between "idea" and "working prototype" is now measured in hours, not weeks. That changes what gets built.

Why trade perps on-chain? Three reasons that actually matter
13:00 UTC
Why do people trade perps on-chain instead of on a CEX?
Three reasons that actually matter:
1. Custody. Your keys, your collateral. No counterparty risk from the exchange itself.
2. Transparency. Every position, every liquidation, every fee — on-chain, auditable, real-time.
3. Composability. On-chain perps can talk to lending protocols, vaults, and automation systems. CEX perps can't.
None of this means on-chain is easier. It means the tradeoffs are different. Know what you're optimizing for.

Poll: market dumped — what's your actual move?
16:00 UTC
market dropped hard this week.
what's your actual move when it does?
A) hold and touch nothing
B) hedge with a short, watch it closely
C) wait for a signal that probably comes too late
D) already had a plan. stuck to it.
no wrong answers. genuinely curious what camp you're in.
(the "D people" are either very calm or lying)

Building in public: showing what's about to matter, not what happened
19:00 UTC
something we've been sitting with:
most DeFi dashboards show you what happened.
what we want to build is something that shows you what's about to matter — before the noise catches up.
not signals. not alerts. just clarity on the part of the market that's actually moving.
still early. still figuring out the right shape for it.
more soon.

on-chain perps are just traditional futures
except the exchange can't freeze your account, the rules are public, and it's open at 3am on Christmas
people pretend this is complicated
it's not. it's just unfamiliar.

we keep asking ourselves:
what would this look like if the trader had more time to think and less noise to scroll through?
that's the design problem we're actually solving
